About
Benjamin Tuttle is a typeface and graphic designer based in Brooklyn, New York. He specializes in the design and production of typefaces and film titles.
After studying graphic design in North Carolina, he received a certificate in typeface design from the Cooper Union. Since 2023, Tuttle has run his independent design practice under the moniker Type Syndicate LLC, working for such clients as XYZ Type, Ragged Edge, Grand Motel Films, Orange Italic, A24 Films, and more. He has released retail typefaces with Order Type Foundry. His work has been acknowledged by the Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, and others. Previously he held graphic design positions at institutions such as the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Bard Graduate Center, Housing Works, Inc, and the design studio Ultravirgo.
He is one of many volunteers at the collectively-run microcinema Spectacle, and has been contributing film programming, poster design, trailer editing, and more since 2016.
